ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES

Environmental Policy, July 2005

Dulwich College Field Centre is situated in the small community of Glyntawe, on the Southern edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park. The building is a conversion of the old primary school for the area. The Centre offers, accommodation, activities and educational packages for up to 36 guests.

Environmental issues are a key theme to all aspects of work throughout the Centre. All visitors and staff are encouraged to have some regard for the environment they are in and what the possible implications of their actions may have on it.

Dulwich College Field Centre accepts its obligation to comply with all relevant legislation and minimise its impact upon the environment. In recognition of this, the Centre has begun to implement an environmental system which focuses on:

•  Minimising waste

•  Monitoring of energy consumption

•  Considering the impact on the environment of its activities

•  A commitment to continual environmental improvements

•  Steadfast commitment to preventing pollution

•  Education on environmental issues

•  Promoting greener tourism

Regular checks and reviews are carried out to ensure the environmental management system remains effective.
