The building comprises of

Ground floor:

  • Large kitchen & dining room
  • Wet entrance – leading to boot store room and drying room
  • Dry entrance hall with public telephone
  • 5, dorm rooms sleeping 4 or 6 in bunk beds (28 beds in total)
  • 6, toilet & shower rooms
  • 1, bathroom, with over bath shower
  • Laundry room

PLAN OF GROUND FLOOR

First floor:

  • Lecture/common room with T.V., D.V.D. video, games cupboard, and reference library
  • 1 en-suite room with twin (or double bed) and a set of bunks
  • 1 en-suite room which can be made up as a double or twin to suite your requirements
  • 1 twin room
  • Managers office
  • Fully self contained apartment which includes 2 twin bedrooms (one with wash hand basin), bathroom with shower bath, WC and wash hand basin, an open plan kitchen and sitting room

PLAN OF FIRST FLOOR

The centre can provide a whole host of activities and study options for visiting groups. The location lends its self well to Geography & Geology groups of all ages, with glaciated valleys, river valleys, limestone pavement, large cave complexes, waterfalls, visible faults, mountains and woodlands all within a short distance.

Almost any outdoor activity can be arranged these include, but are not limited to; caving, climbing, canoeing, gorge walking, mountain walking, mountain biking and mountain boarding. We can also provide visits to some of the historical features within the Brecon Beacons National Park such as; castles, iron-age hill forts, roman encampments, and standing stones.

  • Hot and cold drinks facilities are available 24 hours a day
  • A teacher – student ratio of a minimum of 1 -10 is required for educational visits
  • Transport to and from your school can be arranged
  • The centre has its own 17 seat minibus for use

The Centre is committed to considering the environmental impacts of any of its activities, and works to reduce these impacts where ever possible. Dulwich College Field Centre is proud to be one of the founding members of the Outdoor Professionals Co-Operative, and committed to its environmental stance for work in the outdoor sector. The Centre has achieved the Level 2 in the Green Dragon Environmental Standards Award, and is working towards Level 3.
