The Field Centre is situated in the small hamlet of Heol Callwen, Glyntawe, on the Southern edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park. The building is a conversion of the old primary school for the area. Sleeping up to 40 people the Centre is an ideal place to utilise for school and college trips. It also makes a good base for youth and adult activity breaks and Duke of Edinburgh expeditions. The accommodation and facilities have been awarded a 3 star Hostel grade by the Welsh Tourist Board.
Almost any outdoor activity can be arranged (most of these are contracted out to a vetted licensed local provider – Wales Outdoors Ltd – check out their web site www.walesoutdoors.co.uk). These include, but are not limited to: caving, climbing, canoeing, gorge walking, mountain walking, mountain biking and mountain boarding. We can also provide visits to some of the historical features within the Brecon Beacons National Park such as; castles, iron-age hill forts, roman encampments, and standing stones.
